Calling Costa Rica from the U.S.A.

Dialing direct is the most expensive way to call. It can cost upwards of $5/minute from the U.S.A.! Don't do it, unless you absolutely have to. Calling the U.S. Via the Internet
If you have a computer with you during your travels,
Dialpad.com has a great service that runs about 3 cents a minute or less to call any phone in the U.S.A., and just about any country in the world. It works really well. You need to have a computer with a microphone and speakers, and an internet account. There are also great rates from the U.S. to Costa Rica.
